New post CLICKS and ADVERTISING

Hello all,
The cell phone download apps site I have promised the moon on purchsed
clicks. Got 10,000 clicks 3 months ago and am down to about 500 clicks and no sales. These were targeted clicks.
Shouldn't I have some sales from those clicks. also I already had a Yahoo advertising account set up from one of the sites that I canceled. So I tried running an ad for the apps downloads and it was declined it seems like this site is set up on the landing page is set up for advertising cell phone apps but google shows a small market for apps and a large market for cell phone downloads. Yahoo wont let me advertise downloads for that site. Should I get rid of that site because it seems to me I'm being taken?
Hope that makes sense.

Thanks,
Rex

Hi Rex,

I think we'd need a bit more info to make an informed comment. Do you mean you're using pay per click for traffic?

In general even 1 sale per 100 visitors isn't good (unless it's cheap traffic compared to the sale price) - but 10,000 without a sale sounds like you should either make some drastic changes or drop the site.

Thanks Keith,
Sorry about that , the pay per clicks were from the web site I purchased they had a ad called clicks2you which is targeted traffic. I had read some where 1 out of every 100 clicks should produce a sale. You say that's not good?

I agree that maybe I should just drop that web site. Clicks2you advertised traffic in 24hrs and sales every 15min and 45sec , was I a sucker or what.
Thanks for your input,
Rex

#1 Of course, you are not a sucker. If that were the case you are looking at a forum full of suckers.

#2 Advertising that states such specific claims is doubtful. Maybe this is the type of thing the FTC is trying to correct with their recent rules discussion. I seriously doubt that they could "prove" those statistics.

#3 While I like everyone who is reading this would like to find the magic bullet, it all boils down to hard and consistent work.

#4 My advice to anyone starting out has been (and I expect will continue to be) to find a small niche with good interest that you either know quite a bit about or one that you really enjoy working in and learning more about. For some this may be IM but for many beginners, they just don't know enough to develop the image of expert that is needed to build a profitable subscriber list.

My experience with pay per click was mostly with Google Adwords selling physical products so I needed a fairly high conversion rate.
I ran it for a few years but it gradually became less profitable so in the end dropped it completely.

Most money-making products have exaggerated their results, or used exceptional results that the vast majority of people will not be able to duplicate.
I saw one list building product recently that claimed all sorts of results and said it was a unique new method but it turned out to be just use Giveaways and Adswaps.
